Help with ID of mercury motor

My father in law just puechased a boat with a motor that's a Mercury but I am unable to find any info about this motor online or here can some Id this motor and lead me to the maintence on it like spark plug and gap fuel filter part number and so on. The serial numer is 6140755 the cowl says 40hp.
