If you got the kit, it's pretty easy dude....<br /><br />You drill the hole first for the tap that comes with the kit. Use the tap to thread the hole for the helix coil. Use the installation tool that comes with the kit to install the coil....depending on depth, two coils may be needed.<br /><br />How did ya' mess up?
I agree with Bill if you are doing spark plug holes. <br /><br />A steel HeliCoil changes the heat transfer to the plug, where an aluminum sleeve, like the TimeSert retains stock heat transfer.
enginedude,<br /><br />Easiest place to screw up a helicoil is NOT threading the insert 1/2 or more threads below the surface,before removing the tool.Other idea is make sure you start to thread it in square to the hole.<br />OBJ is right, What happened ? ? ?<br /><br />DHP
