They describe the engine as "fresh".... fresh does not necessarily mean "new". If it is truly a new engine, the engine alone is worth quite a bit more than this deal appears. I would ask a lot more questions. Not enough data to choose or distinguish the deals.

My opinion... but then again... I am a newbie ... just figured I'd throw my two cents in.

Put some "Smart Tab's" on her if you can...........
Will get you on plane a whole lot faster, plus you'll gain a couple mph!

Re: Help with Boat Choice???????????

Personally, I'd start looking at the bowrider. I like the layout better, and it sounds like you'll be doing more tubing/skiing/wakeboarding and I think that hull would work better for that. I'm not sure which boat is actually the better deal - and I can't really tell if I think the deal you've worked out is a good one. I'm a little concerned about the floor in the bowrider from the CL post.

That's all theory though - make sure you go over the boat carefully, and as was mentioned above: water test.

Boat 2 - I didn't see anything in the ad that said it's a Mercruiser. How do you know that?

Boat 1 - Floor replaced 3 years ago. Hmmm. Floors get replaced because water has infiltrated and made them 'soft'. A soft floor is often indicative of infiltration in stringers and/or transom as well.

You need to take someone along who can at least 'tap test' the hull and recognize the difference between sound material and waterlogged sections. I've had several boats surveyed and I never could tell the difference... but the surveyor could.

Good luck!

#1. Has the power. Make sure the transom is not rotted either.

You will need the power of the #1 choice, especially for wakeboarding. The bowrider layout seems a better match for your purposes also.

Re: Help with Boat Choice???????????

#1. Check carefully for rot. You want solid transom, deck, stringers. ANY soft spots can spell big trouble. That motor is worth close to the asking price by itself.
