I have a bayliner Jazz Jetboat with a 120 hp. Year is 1995. This is a great little boat except it is very slow out of the hole. I am not sure if I need to replace the impeller and if so, should I put in a stainless steel one? Another option I have read about is the "smart tabs" that will help with getting on plane quicker and help stop the "porpoising" that it does in rougher water. Once I am on plane it runs great. I usually have to make my two kids sit towards the front to get on plane. I just need some guidance on what is the best direction to go in or if this can be improved. Thanks!

Re: Help with Bayliner Jazz Jetboat 1995

I had a 96 Sea Doo Speedster with the twin 85 hp jets. It was a fun boat, I'd get another one in an instant, I loved it! I don't know that much aboout the Bayliner jets, but the Sea Doo had wear rings in the impeller channel. They needed to be replaced every few years or too much water would basically leak past the impeller without getting pushed through. So you might want to check that. I found the jetboating.net website very useful. It has forums like this but is just limited to jet boats.
Good luck
Steve.
