Help with battery switch for second battery

Help...I just purchased a battery switch to use with a second battery. I am confused, looking at the diagrams included with the switch as to how to wire this...I am attaching the diagrams here...Can anyone tell me....Don't I have to connect the negative terminals on the battery to something? I have a positive and a negative coming from the main engine harness. I also have 2 ground wires present, one for the fuel sender and one for the power to my GPS/VHF etc.

Finally, my onboard battery charger has a wiring harness with two red positive connectors and one ground connector. The layout of the switch has me confused.

No you're not. They can be a little confusing since there are many ways to install them. Just verify your wiring for parallel or series based on your needs before powering up.
