Help with a boat purchase - 1997 Lund Tyee 1850 GS IO

I’m heading out to look at the following tomorrow. Guy wants $10K. Runs well, good floor, good transom he says, new bellows last winter. 220HP 4.3 Merc - again he says.

wondering if it’s worth the 10K? What would make it or make it less? I know all the depends on so I’m basically looking for the top 5 things and if it’s over priced or not. NADA says it’s worth 8.5K but sometimes that isn’t spot on.

What am I forgetting;

1. checking compression
2. will evaluate wood in flr and transom
3. will operate everything
4. will start it
5. ?

Hopefully I'm not to late, but 10k seems high for a 23 year old boat of this type. This one appears to have been decently maintained and has some added features from the look of it, but I would think 8k seems more reasonable.

The #1 thing to verify for certain is that the deck, stringers and transom don't have any rot. Any sign of rot at all should send you running.

Definitely try everything, bilge pump, throttle shifting, etc..

Finally if 10K is really big deal and more money than you can stand to lose, or will leave you with no cash for potential repairs you should really demand a sea trail to verify everything works and it doesn't take on water anyplace.

Did NADA include the Helix FF ,Cannon Riggers and bow mounted trolling motor with a battery charger ? And what did they allow for each item vs what they sold for new ? I don't think the price is out of line if all checks out , Lund is a quality brand that usually commands a high resale vs many other aluminum boats. I do not think the seller is out of line ,especially if you get it for 9 g or so. Has a excellent power plant in the V6 and replacing just about anything is easier on a aluminum boat vs a glass one. Its gonna be pricey because its a Lund in Minnesota.
Is it worth it? Not to me.
If you are into fit and finish, keeping the carpet clean, and it fits your
needs, it may be worth it to you. Go for it.

Picking it up tonight! Got him to drop a $1k and we are doing a water test tonight. I should "" be pulling it home tonight.
