I recently bought a 1970 Sears (Eska, model#217-58580) 4hp outboard. The problem is, I don't know a whole lot about out boards beyond how to operate one.
I changes the lower unit lube, and am ready to gas it up, but there are two things I need to know first. And, not for lack of trying, I haven't been able to find any guidance online.
1. How do I know whether the engine is air cooled or water cooled?
2. If it is air cooled, how do I figure out what oil to use and at what ratio? (I've read on other posts the the ration might have to be adjusted for today's gasoline formulas, true?)
