I am trying to remove the lower unit and can't figure it out. I am an American in Sicily without a manual (up a creek w/o a paddle!). I have taken out the 2 bolts holding the lower unit on and have the gearshift in reverse. But the shift linkage is holding up the mess. Any suggestions would be helpful.
On a separate, but related note, the motor stopped working. It idles fine, but when throttle is applied it makes a huge sound like a bag of bolts getting thrown around. The prop would not turn and cooling water stopped coming out. I am hoping it is simply a water pump, but fear it may be more. Any ideas? At least the motor idles.
