Hi, im trying to drive in the inner bearing race and it won't go in. The outer one did, but I can't seem to get the inner one started. I tap one side in, and the other pops out. I need something from someone's sack of tricks!

Try laying a large punch across the bearing cup then be sure to hit the punch in the center to get it started. Even better if you have a thick piece of steel handy. Use eye protection also.

Step #1 is to make sure that locating surface is absolutely clean.-----Repair parts are a kit from Amazon / China ??----I know of a shop that simply uses new hub with bearings already installed.----Saves labor and ensures a top quality repair.

figured it out, it turns out the race was 0.5 mm too big. The old and new one are a slightly different size for some reason. The outer races are exactly the same. Weird.

Glad you figured it out. For the future, put the races in the freezer for an hour before you install and use a race installer like this set

Something very wrong. That is 5 times allowable bearing tolerances.

Wrong bearing perhaps?
It was in a trailer bearing kit. There are three different kits for 3 different size bearings. They are all obviously different. I bought the one that looked exactly like mine. There was no way I would be able to see an 0.5mm difference on the store shelf.

This is very good advice. Also, most auto parts stores have these available as loaners. I was able to borrow one from our local O'Reilly's and it didn't cost me a dime. Makes the installation much easier.

I am sure if you double checked the number on the races you would have seen immediately they were a different part number.

UFP uses off-sized bearings to be "Unique". my local trailer parts place keeps both races on the shelf
Seems like I learned that the hard way. I need the L68110 bearing it seems, whereas the standard one that I bought is L68111. Got to hate those "unique" ideas.

One thing I have done is cut the old race in half, it makes for the perfect tool to drive the races all the way in and when the new race is seated they just fall out.

I had a trailer that used that same sized race that you have. I didn't buy my races and bearings until I pulled them off the hub to check the numbers.

Same applies for the seal.
