So I purchased a 97 Chris Craft 190 BR Concept in June. Boat ran well and was well kept and clean. Second week I had it I left it in my buddy's Canal overnight. He lives on the North Channel of the St. Clair river and the bow was facing the channel so waves from freighters wouldn't swamp over the back.
When we got in the boat the next day I noticed the the starboard side was sitting several inches lower at the aft of the boat. There was no water in the bilge area when we checked. This concerned me so when I pulled the boat out at the end of the day I checked for cracks / damage on the starboard side of the boat and didn't find anything. A few weeks later we were at an inland lake and pulling skiers and tubing. When I looked under the starboard bow seat to put a ski rope away it had 5 to 7 inches of water in it, and again the bilge area was empty. I noticed that there was a cooler drain under the starboard side of the boat (see pictures).
So my thought was that the Drain was leaking. When I reached in through the anchor locker to see if I could access the drain from inside the boat I noticed that there was no tubing connecting the drain in the cooler to the drain going overboard. It was basically a hole in the hull of my boat. I also realized that the area under the bow of my boat is not draining to the bilge area of my boat and the water was going under the floor. so my assumption is that there is standing water under the floor in the foam on the starboard side of my boat.
I know that Chris Craft had gone to fiberglass stringers in 96 so not much concern about those rotting out. The top deck of the boat is a self bailing design, but the deck is wood with a layer of glass on the underside. My concern is that the deck might eventually rot out if I don't get the water out.
So in short after this long story How do I get this water out of my boat?
