Help - Really Bad Gel Coat

My dad has a 1978 betrham 46 foot.

The gel goat was very very chalkie.

So he had a guy power wash it, then acid wash it then compound it with a electric polisher thingie.

Now its just chalkie - is there anything that can be done to bring it back to a shine - or is it too old??

Yes, Star Brite or 3M restorer works pretty good. Then I put on two coats of mcguiares Gold class liquid wax Brought mine back to 90% improvement. look at the pics. I'll post and magnify (click on pic. again)...Pat. You will see the shine mine was chalky too when I bought it.
