I want to replace the bushings in the Mallory distributor on my 2.3. I found a place that can do the work, but they don't have a source to find the parts. I have spent countless hours searching but can't find anything specific to this distributor, I've never had to do this before, so I am not sure what they look like.
I haven't found any part numbers or suggestions on them..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Measure the old distributor and go to NAPA. they have dizzy bushing in stock, however they are listed by ID and OD

Also, to replace the bushings in a dizzy is a 30 minute job if you never did it before and a 10 minute job if you have done it once.

knock the roll pin out of the dizzy gear
pull the gear off the shaft
pull the shaft out of the housing
knock out the two bushings
press in the new bushings
oil the shaft with gear oil
install the shaft
install the gear
hammer in the roll pin

Also you may find the shaft is bunged up as well.
The reason for me wanting to replace them is I have alot of vertical play and was concerned about the meshing to the auxiliary shaft in the engine.
I only believe it's excessive from articles I have read but there were still many different opinions.

Thanks Scott,
I wasn't sure if there were part numbers or just OD/ID.
I appreciate your directions on this.

Bushings wont help vertical play. On my old pontiac with delco points distributor you take vertical play out by shimming the gear with a kit like this.

if there is no side to side play bushings are fine.

vertical play is taken care of by shims as Scott indicates. however the engagement with the oil pump drive is substantial.
