Might purchase my first boat, the hull, console, everything was redone, but the engine on it doesnt have anything on it, its a 1997 Johnson 40 hp, how much would it cost for the throttle, and the harness? and what else would we need to attach motor to the center console? The old console was thrown out along with everything.

Would this be all i need, the engine is intact, i just need to know what else goes on it. my dad is really good with cars... so if we have all the necessary parts, we could do the rest.

Did you do a compression check on the mtr. Check the gear case oil for water. See if it had spark ?? These checks can all be done without any controls.

Yes, they are all well, we had a family friend whose main job to work on outboard said it works, how hard is it to install the control box sir?

Connecting it is a relatively easy job. Mounting it where you'd like may be more difficult. Also before you buy a used one make sure that the electical wire for the starter and the control cables are long enough for your needs.
