well were do i start the motor starts then stalls and some time it wont start with out the starting fluid plus the water in take comeing from the lake leaks i think it has a metel freez pug in it that is rusted thru could that cause the engin to stall.the boat has been sitting for 4 years i changed the starter and coil and the ing switch and the relay switch ....could the float on the carb not letting enough gas in?

86 bayliner volvo plenta 2.3 l in trobel

i have a volvo plenta 2.3 l bay liner that is in trubel i started engin and it stalled the boat was sitting for 4 years the freeze plug also leake while engin was runing i changed the coil and starter and eng switch are all new now i can't keep engien running could i need to clean the carb ? maby not enough gas getting through?

A full tuneup, and a carb rebuild would be a good START to fixing your problem, especially after setting for 4 years.
How familiar are you with engine tuneups and carb rebuilds?
