I have probably asked this before but still dont know what ti do. Before my powerhead failed on my 200 carbed merc, i noticed a small brass nipple open with a small hose detached with a split in it. This nipple is on the opposite side of the spark plugs on the head. There are 3 nipples on each side with the hose going to the front of the head near the spark plugs. I have been told they are the overflow for unused oil and recirculated back in. With the hose off it spits an oil/fuel mixture all over the inside of the motor. I just picked the boat up from the dealer after they water tested the new powerhead and low and behold....the hose was off again and split!! Do you think it could cause a powerhead problem? Do you think the hose is bad and just needs to be replaced? All others are fine. What would cause the buildup of pressure to split the hose? Hose didnt looked blocked. Sorry for all the questions but i have to believe this contributed to the powerhead failure because there was nothing in the carbs, fuel lines, etc...Thank you.
