Help on Fuel Starvation

I have a 94 Johnson 115. Was a trailer queen I have been getting back into working order. Already been switched to premix before my ownership.

It would run fine at WOT but would stumble and die while at low speed in no wake zones. Last time out it would also die at WOT unless I would constantly have someone pumping the primer ball. Between these outings I had to replace the trim motor.

I have checked the water separator, fuel line fittings, and obviously fuel in the tank.

Pulled the fuel pump out and pulled that apart, Appears to be no cracks in the diaphragms. There is a 4 wire plug going to the oil side of the pump that is now blocked off. This was disconnected. Is it still needed while running premix? If not should I rebuild the pump anyway?
Thanks for any help

Re: Help on Fuel Starvation

The 4 wire pump harness should be disconnected when running pre-mix.

The gasoline side of the VRO2 fuel pump can be rebuilt with the proper kit. First, remove the pulse limiter and clean it thoroughly to be sure that it is functioning properly, then check alll fuel lines for any air leaks. Be sure to check the ant-siphon valve; its usually in the outlet fitting on top of your built-in tank.

The rebuild kits are available here: http://maxrules.com/fixomcvro.html

Scroll down to the word "ALL" in red.

Great. Thanks for the info. Just doesn't seem right to have a fuel pump and not having it hooked up to power. Hoping it was related to the oil injection.

Re: Help on Fuel Starvation

The VRO, VRO2 and OMS systems are strictly mechnical pumps. The wiring is for the alarm systems.
