I've just bought an Yamaha 40fm (Serial No 6E9 L300100) 2 cylinder manual start outboard which needs a stop button wiring in. I'm told that the black wire on the stop button goes to earth and the white connects to a corresponding white wire on the engine coming off the CDI. The trouble is there is no corresponding white on the engine!
There are however other unconnected wires and I have bracketed what I think they are for, can anybody tell me otherwise?

Red with Inline Fuse (Battery Charging)
Brown (Solenoid Switch)
Blue (Choke)

I'd be grateful for any help and also rough age based on serial number!
