Help!! It's labor day, and my boat still won't work!!! I have a 33 Super Sea Horse Johnson that I just put a new impeller in, and it still does not "pump" water out the pee hole. The spray is better, but still seems plugged. Someone told me to blow out the lines with an air compressor, but I don't know where or what lines they are talking about. I have an air compressor, but don't know where to begin... Can you help??

If there is a rubber hose leading from the block to the tell-tale outlet on the cowling, try removing that and making sure it's clear. A small piece of wire can be used to get crud out of the fitting on the block.

I'll try it and let you know...thanks for the response. Any other suggestions in case this doesn't work?? What about where I am supposed to use compressed air on some lines under or around the water pump?? Is this the same line. I am going out right now to try...

I had similar problems with a '59 Evinrude 35Hp. Replaced impeller still would not spray any out the tell tale. In my case I ended up taking heads off and cleaning crud out of the water jackets. Replaced head gasket and works like a charm. The lines to blow air throught are the intake lines coming from the water pump. Its easiest to take the thermostat out and blow compressed air through the passages that way. If that doesnt work for you, it might be time to take the head off and clean inside.

Good Luck and keep us posted :)
