Help! Need the vin location or a source on where to get it of a 1988 Glasride trailer

Folks,

Im still screwing around for a vin# or a location on where I can find it. Nobody from here in Chicago area seems to know where it is and I need to register it to me. The old owner doesnt have it nor the dealer where he bought it from. The whole thing smells fishy but I need to move forward. I can barely read the sticker with the capacities written on it and cannot find where the vin# might be possibly be etched on the frame. Any ideas???

Have a good hard look at the first cross member. Take a little bit of steel wool and start lightly rubbing around on the top surface. Most of my boat trailers I've had were stamped there.

Some trailers have it in the inside of the wishbone. I have had trailers that dont have one too. Here in wisconsin you dont need to reg a trailer unless your hauling 3000lbs or more. If you cant find one, you may be able to call the state and have them inspect the trailer, and issue one.
