Help! Need Fuel Pump for 1984 70hp Evinrude

I just picked up a 1984 70HP Evinrude. It needs a Fuel Pump. I cannot find a new fuel pump anywhere. I get discontinued, out of stock, obsolete, no longer in stock. Another words I cannot find this fuel pump anywhere, there are kits for the fuel pump. But I am not sure if a new kit will make it pump again. I am not a mechanic, but the Boat Mechanic I had look at it said to get a new fuel pump, don't try to repair it. Can anyone please lead me in the right direction on where I could possibly buy a new fuel pump. PLEASE

Have you tried right on www.iboats.com ? They seem to have a lot of fuel pumps in stock you have to know the part # for your engine. If you'll give the model # of your engine someone will chime in with the part # and a source.

As long as your original housing isn't warped or cracked you will be just fine with a rebuild kit.

If you really need to replace the pump look on Ebay for an aftermarket pump. Sierra most likely makes one.

BRP OE part # 0438557 will work fine.

If you think you can repair it BRP has a repair kit for it, part #393103. Over the yrs I've done quite a few of them and it's not that hard to do. Approx, $17.96
