i am also looking for a vertical shaft for the alpha one 170 ...id like to buy a used one first if i can but if not im gonna order a new one...can anyone tell me a plave to get used alpha parts?

Good luck, cham...good gears/shafting out of sterndrive cases are hard to find....if they aren't out on the lake running they are apart because of lack of lube failure or an impact.....an they all have the same busted up parts as the one you own...
