I am completely new to boating. A friend of a friend is selling me a 1987 Correct Craft Dominique. The price I can not pass up but it does not have a trailer. The boat is on Long Island and I am in the Boston area. I have been looking for a trailer to buy here, drive to NY to pick the boat up with. My nightmare would be to buy the trailer, get to NY and not have it fit. This is the info I have can someone let me know if it will fit.

The boat: 19' Correct Craft Dominique, Inboard
The trailer: 1997 Calkins Model#CRBX1618-3000, GVWR 3746, Galvenized, single axle, bunk with keel rolls. The trailer currently holds an 18' Boston Whaler. It appears that everything on the trailer is adjustable, bunks, axle, tongue, winch, etc. Trailer was meant for a 17-19' boat.

Any opinions?

Re: Help need a trailer

Sounds like it would work. Just make sure you take all the tools to make your adjustments. I was told the best way to fit the boat to a new trailer is to lower the boat over the trailer with a sling and then make your adjustments accordingly. If it were me and it had rollers make sure you tie the boat- safety chains don't always hold and you'd end up with your boat on the road....You may get lucky and it will fit without major adjustments. Good Luck!
