Last night I hit a sandbar and seemed to have gotten off witout much damage. Ran the engine for about 4 more hours, and on my way into the marina, it came out of forward gear by itself and just revved in neutral. Is there damage that could have occured from the prop being stuck in the sand, sort of grinding the gears? Is it a major job? Very heartbreaking because it had been running like a top. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot, Pat.

you may have spun your prop, check to see if the shaft is spinning when in gear, try this with the muffs on out of the water
