(Help)motor wont idle up

[yamaha1100 venture]

i have a 96 waveventure witha new motor. i have to slowly give it gas until it revs up. can anyone help

sounds like it is starving for fuel,, hope you rebuilt the carbs and fuel pump when you replaced the engine. if not you should.
