I am new to force so bare with me. I aquired a boat/motor/trailer today with what I am 99% sure is a force motor (hood has been painted) was told it was a force 120 hp. I have searched all over for a sticker with no luck as it seems it should be on the left mounting bracket which has been replaced. What I have found..... inside hood part # 664712 and a sticker that has the date 6/5/86 on it. Near the bottom of the power head- 631995 and K675054 That all I can find for numbers....it's a inline 4 cyl very clean under hood and came on a 1976 15' baja with trailer. Any/All help appreciated on identifying this motor.

Re: help...model, year, and hp please

ok after reading that merc took over force in 1991 and assuming that the previous owner is correct in saying that it is a 120 hp. I can assume that the controls that are with it (they say us marine on them) were purchased with the motor....only leaves me to believe this is a 1990 force 120, anyway I can confirm this?

Re: help...model, year, and hp please

I have had two 95 force 120 hp motors now and both of them the little nameplate sticker was missing and most of what I have heard is that they fall off farely often but if it is there it will be on right hand side about halfway down the leg on the bracing to the boat it should have a serial number or something that you can cross reference otherwise pop off th flywheel and take the # off the top of your stator and search for that # in google it should tell you what that stator belongs to I had to do that to even find someone that sells a stator for mine but turns out that 95 was the only year they used that stator so it made it easier but any part # you can find googling it will tell you what it belongs to and what motor you have

1984-1989 was USMarine Force 125 hp.
1990 - 1999 was Mercury Force 120 hp.

Several (4) different ignition systems were used from 1984-1996.
Id the ignition and you can narrow it down.

Also the lower units were changed over the years.
Above prop exhaust?
Thru the prop hub exhaust?
One piece driveshaft or 2 piece?

What color are the coils, blue or black?
Does the wiring connect to a terminal strip?
Is there a switchbox?
Do the switchbox and wires connect with nuts or do they have plug-in terminal connectors?

Here is a link to all the Force motor parts lists, compare them to what you have.

Model #152F8A. What year is this motor? Are Force motors any good? Thanks.

Superfly, that is a 1988 model. Beat to pieces from the looks of it ( if that is the one currently on ebay).

Notice that the seller doesn't even say if it runs, I bet it doesn't.

Find yourself a 1980-1998 Johnson or Evinrude.

Yes, it is the one on e-bay. I don't know much about Force. I have a 6 hp Rude right now and I should be content because it runs really well. Just looking for more HP. How's the pizza business up in Medford? I live near Madison and used to live in Wausau area.

Pizza business is booming to say the least. Been working an average of 63 hours a week, and several have been 72 hour weeks.
We're a little short handed to say the least. Looking for a job? :)
