HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT IS BROKEN ..

I have 2006 HONDA BF75krta , four stroke. There is some sort of switch/solenoid that activates when the key is turned for starting. This in turn kicks in the STARTER solenoid. What is the name of this electronic part ? It is located on opposite side of starter from the starter solenoid and feeds into the solenoid.

If by passed the started kicks in great.

I would like to know what this is for future reference.
