I got my 2000 1900 SC Maxum a couple months ago and the depth finder was acting flaky sometimes showing "--" as the depth or the correct depth, even in water that is within the usable depths of the transducer. A month after i got it the transducer now only shows "--" as the depth. I did a little research and found out the thru-hull transducer was a 200khz and uses a RCA cable connector. I found one with the same size, frequency, and connector as my previous one on ebay. I brought it out to the bay plugged it into my boat, hung it over the side and got the same "--". I don't know if I am just unlucky and got a defective transducer, if I the way I am testing it is not a good idea, of if my depth finder is shot. Any help would be great.

I made a post similar to this a couple weeks back and no one responded, I hope this one get some responses.

Thanks in advance,

if you have 2 transducers that produce the same results, I would suspect the gauge might be bad and not the transducers.
