Help me identify the year

Hey everyone...new boater here! A friend gave me a boat for free and I am going to try to get it running. Its what I believe to be a 1979 McKee Craft 14' with a Mariner 60 outboard. These are the only number I could find on the engine: Mariner 60E
675 L 309727

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure if its a 2 stroke or 2 cylinder. There are 2 plugs on the engine so I am assuming its a 2 cylinder. I live in the Hilton Head SC area and would love to get this thing running and get on the water

It is a 2 stroke and a 2 cylinder.

That number is a yamaha number. All mariners with that style of number are made by yamaha in Japan. After about 1983, mercury began building the motors in the U.S of A. From that point on, the number sequence changed to the more familiar style (0A123456, 0B123456 etc etc).

Your motor was built in 1981.

The 'E' means electric start.
The 'L' means long shaft (20")
