I don't see a serial number on it. Where should it be? It came off a 1989 Galaxy Bowrider. The sticker on the back that you can't read says "350 Magnum". Need to know what the drive ratio is. I tried to sell it last year on craigslist, but no luck. I know it's pretty rough on the outside, and the prop is worthless, but internally I think it's in good shape.

I'm gonna sand it and paint it to get it more presentable. Any other tips to selling this outdrive. I was asking $300 last summer.

missing too many pieces for even $300. input shaft is rusted, is there water in the drive in place of the oil.
just above the "ser" in mercruiser should be the gear ratio and serial number.
prop damage might indicate internal damage
worst case is to pull the input shaft and vert shaft and count the gear teeth to determine the ratio.

I wouldn't accept that mess for free, let alone pay money for it.
