Help me find thread; 77-79 Merc Harness rebuild

I saw a thread recently, though I can't say how new/old the thread itself was...

Anyway, in this thread the guy rebuilt the control harness on a 1977-1979 or so, maybe a 70 hp, Mercury or Mariner outboard...right down to cutting the connector open and re-soldering the wires to the pins.

Anyone help me find the thread? I tried searching all kinds of keywords and couldn't re-find it.

Good thread, but not the one I was looking for.

The thread I am looking for dealt with a harness with one of those funny-shaped flat "sideways" 6-pin connectors that, AFAIK, only came on 77-79 3 cyl Mercs.

Here is a diagram from maxrules of the internal harness that mates to the control harness I'm talking about (note the funny harness plug):
