Where can I find a heavy duty outboard engine stand or cart that is good enough for large 200+ hp engines. I need something a little more sturdy than the largest model Garelick makes. Any ideas? I saw a good one online about a year ago but now I can't find it again. Where do the outboard manufacturers get them? Thanks for any info you can pass my way.

Re: Help me find Heavy Duty Engine Stand

Are you going to be storing engines on it or are you needing something for a short time. When I re did my transom this spring I needed to get my 235 Rude off for a few months and was in the same situation as you are. Knowing I had a lot of $ in materials to buy in the near future I didn't want to spend a bunch on an engine stand. I built one in about an hour out of 2X4's for the base and uprights and a 54" piece of 2X10 for the main beam. It worked awesome was solid as a rock and would have handled another 235 easily. Plus the 2X10 allowed me to use the upper and lower bolt holes to mount with. Was basically a square base of 2X4 on edge about 4' x4' then angle pieces up to the beam(similar to how a steep roof is framed) with a support right under the beam that was vertical. Then added a few sways to keep it sturdy and it was done. Just a thought...
