Help: Looking at Nissan motor today?

Hello all. Seeking advise and opinions about a motor I'm looking at today. The motor is a Nissan NS25C3 remote steer. I'm looking to replace an older (1987) 30 hp Suzuki on a 16.5 SeaNymph FM.

Questions:
Will the Nissan provide similar power to the Suzuki?
Is this a smooth running motor that will idle down (for trolling) if tuned and clean?
Are parts available?
Aside from compression, spark, pee stream what should I be examining when I look?
Any known issues with these motors?

I've owned two Tohatsu tillers (9.9 & 18) before and both ran strong and smooth. I also received some good advice and help here and hoping this Nissan will work out.

Any and all advice and opinions welcome and appreciated.

1) Yes
2) Depends on what you are comparing it to. It's a 2 cylinder and it's old.
3) Yes
4) None

Re: Help: Looking at Nissan motor today?

Thank you Mr. Guru for your succinct and most appreciated answers. Good to be back on this end of the board.
The motor is still on the gentleman's boat at his place of business. We started it up on the muffs and it fired right up.
Seemed to miss a little at idle and the idle was fast but it seemed to run strong.
Went into forward and reverse without any grinding or clunking.
Compression was 150 on both cylinders.
Plugs looked a bit carbon-ed up (not sure if that's a word) but the owner said he'd fogged it for winter.
Fuel lines under the cowl are deteriorating and need replaced.
Didn't pee strongly on the muffs but don't see that as an issue.
I'm thinking a good carb cleaning and new water pump kit and should be good to go.
Good to know it will make good power, parts are available and there are no known issues with these motors.
As far as comparisons go, I was comparing it to my buddies 70's era 2 cylinder Johnson that runs smooth as a sewing machine.
As far as it being old, that's OK because I'm getting there myself, still smooth though.
I bought the motor. I'll pick it up in a week or so when the PO gets it off his boat.
thanks Elvin
