I have a 1997 Evinrude 9.9 long shaft that I want to convert to a short shaft. It has the spacer between the upper and lower units. I understand that it is rather simple to remove the spacer and replace the drive shaft and shift rod with the short version. Is this the case? Secondly, where is a good place to find used parts for the conversion. <br /><br />Thanks,
