I have a 98 fisher 16' fiberglass boat w/90 hp mariner on it. At crusing speeds the boat leans hard left side.I've searched the forums @ this site on this problem .In the water @ low speeds it is fine. Just at high speeds this happens ,is there a permanate fix besides installing those trim tabs. After all it is a 16' bass boat and I don't like those big trim tabs hanging off the boat.
Will raising the motor up help?
How about taking off the whale tale?
Adjusting the trim anadoe above the prop?
At this point I'll try anything that might work this is a wild ride if you know what I mean.
Thanks for taking you time to help
wjphunter

Take the whale tail off.

Looking from the back, the tab above the prop should face slightly to the right.

I have an 11' boat that I installed small manually adjustable trim tabs. Made all the difference in the world!

If you can raise the motor enough for the whale tail to clear the water when you're on plane, leave it on. It'll plane you faster and not hamper on-plane performance.

It's all hit-or-miss. Experimentation is the key. Have fun doing it!
