1985 Merc 90 inline6. Started running bad - missing fouling plugs.
I rebuilt the carbs, replaced trigger, replaced both ign boxes with new cdi, new rectifier. Still runs like poo. If I disconnect the rectifier, it runs great and goes like a scalded dog - better than if ever has in my memory. Does this mean I have a stator issue, or is there still some other potential gremlin? So far the only part we replaced that I don't think we needed was the trigger, but I want to be sure before coughing up for a stator.
