Cant seem to keep my 150 hp Johnson fast strike engine idleing for trolling and the plugs are allways black and wet. Is this just the nature of these engines? In my Clymer manual I find no way to adjust carbs for leaner mix and also find no place on the engine to adjust. Anyone have any ideas??

Don't know for sure, but most I've seen have an idle air screw, near top of the carb. The screw should have a spring on it. On a force, it is directly in the front. Then again, you may not have them, but it would seem to be hard to make a carb that never needed idle air adjusted for one reason or another. Good luck

Some 60 degree motors had all fixed jets. What plugs are you running? What fuel? What oil? What mix? Are the carbs clean?

Good luck!
