Help Identify the Year

I picked up a used Evinrude outboard off of craigslist with the model number of E25RCUR

Is the year number the CU or the UR? I was told it was an 87 by the seller

So the Design Feature is 'R' and not 'RC' ?

If the Design Feature is 'R' and the year is 'CU' then what does the last 'R' mean?

U-7
R- model run or suffix- not important

Year build- match letter to number

I had worked backwards and saw a RC as a design feature for rope start / commercial and assumed that RC was a valid design feature.
