Help identify my motor please!

Hello,
I know that this is a 60-something Johnson 40 horse, I can't seem to find a model number or ID plate. So I'm posting pictures to see if any of you experienced folks can help me identify it?!

Its newer than you think it is - the external coils are a tip-off in that regard. There should be a data plate on the transom bracket, possibly on the port side of the motor. If not, look for the welsh plug in the powerhead. There will be at least a serial number on it, if not a model number, as well.

it's a 1973-1976 40hp OMC, i say omc because you really don't know if it's a Johnson or Evinrude, with the custom crap on it.
