Hi, I have an American trailer and live in the UK, I need to replace the wheel bearings and wonder if anybody could assist in helping me get the right bearings. I have two bearings per Wheel both tapered. The small front bearing has an internal diameter of 1.246 inches and a external diameter of 2.186inch at the largest diameter and 1.94 at the smallest external diameter. The back bearing has a internal diameter of 1.749 inches and external of 2.929 and 2.559. The oil seal is 2.313 internal and 3.369 external diameter.

I am hoping these will mean something and someone can go hey thats a American x y z bearing you can get that from url ...

If this helps I purchased some bearing buddies 2.441 and they fitted the hub perfectly

Regards

Chris

Re: Help identifiying wheel bearing sizes

Most bearings have a number stamped on them someplace, with that number you should be able to cross reference to a popular named bearing (timken, bca, etc.). Hope this helps you. In the states we can take the bearing/race to our parts stores and usually walk out with the correct ones without ordering. I don't know your situation in the UK.

DougV>

Re: Help identifiying wheel bearing sizes

I wish it was that easy here nobody seems to make or hold parts for a single axle trailer boat is a Regal 1900LSR everything here is twin axle and smaller components.

The small bearing has CHINA VNC 15123 stamped on the back the large bearing just has CHINA 25580 REER.

I did email the manufacturer in the US to find out what the parts were but they would not speak with me directly and referred me to Regal. The UK Regal dealer got me brake pads, bearings and brake springs but it cost me appox $600 which is way to much I could stomach it once but not again! There service was excellent though and they did the job just way too pricy

Regards

Chris
