I just bought a boat with a 18 horse evinrude. The numbers on it are 18702R-E12630. Can any one tell me the year of this motor. I also took it out for the maiden voyage. I made about three runs with it and it died. I waited about 15 minutes and then it started again. This happened three times - at which point I gave up. Any suggestions from you guys that have the experience, because I don't. I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Your stalling might be caused by the air vent on your tank being closed. Do you have a built in tank or the carry on type?

Thanks for the help. My gas tank is a portable one and there is no vent in the top of the tank - perhaps I should get a different tank???
I also wondered what the low speed mixture knob on the motor was and what it should be set on. Any ideas....

Thanks,
Jeff
