Help!! HPDI 300 surging and cutting out

I've been chasing this problem for a year. Port engine runs great intermittently. It will shut down and not start unless I raise the outdrive almost up to the trailering point. I've tried everything. I've swapped ECM's, changed all fuel filters, by the YDS software but it does not throw any codes. Fuel pressure is good after the medium pressure fuel pump and software says The high-pressure is where it should be. Any help would be great

sounds like a bad connection that moving the cables to the motor gets it to work again.

what did you mean by it will not start?
will it turn over well, but not fire up?
have you checked for spark when this happens?

Yes it cranks but it will not fire. I will check for spark during no start and update.
