HELP....How do I remove spindle??

I was changing my wheel bearings last week and I found that one of the spindles was badly chipped and one of the bearings was crushed. I also found that the threads on the spindle are bad, so I must replace it.<br /><br />My question is: How do I remove the spindle. Is their a special tool that I need? How is it usually mounted. <br /><br />I noticed that their is some welding behind it but I think it is for the axle.<br /><br />Please help..

I just had a thread on this the other day...<br /><br />I was going to make my own axle, but decided against it, after buying spindles, axle tubing, I was able to get a pre-fab for not much more.<br /><br />I got a 2,000 lb axle, INCLUDING new hubs and bearings for $102 shipped.... But I am on my own for spring brackets, so I still have some fab work to do, but that saved me about $50

Remembered to bring in the receipt today....<br /><br />Got the axle from Soutwest Wheel Co<br />Dallas TX 214-631-0200<br /><br />They said they would include axle bracket, but what came was a worthless piece of metal, had to fabricate my own. For me, this was worth the $50 savings, took a couple scrounge around and weld it up.
