I'm trying to remove the emulsifier tube from the carb to insert the larger main fuel tube assembly. The clymer manual just says 'remove the emulsifier tube carefully'... How the hell does it come out ? I've removed the covering screw and it looks like it's a push fit, but it's as tight as hell with nothing to grip onto. Is there a secret way to get it out ?
thanks again...

Push it out from above. Some have a plug above it or maybe you can press down from within the venturi.

If that doesn't work you may try getting up in there and wiggling it a bit. While in between tries gently smack the body downward on the wooden workbench, or a book or something.

Hi Yepblaze,
Many thanks for the response. Unfortunately it's a blind hole from above. There is a bit sticking up into the venturi tube (with the jet tube passing through it). I'll try to make up some sort of aluminium lever to be able to press against it without damaging the jet tube. Thanks for confirming that it's not screwed in, I now know that I have just get to get hold of it somehow and pull...

Just to let everyone know the result...
I managed to get it out in the end, but it was a real struggle. I had to make up a small semi-circular block of wood to place in the venturi to lever up against the emulsifier tube. It finally came free, and now can be put in and out with no problem. I guess it must have been gummed up or something (from new).
I'm still trying to find out if I need to replace the main jet (please see my other post on jets). I had read a while back, here and on other forums about upgrading a Honda 9.9 to a 15 by removing the throttle stop and changing the jets (plural) from 48's to 52's. I've now changed the 'jet assembly' inside the emulsifier tube from a 48 to a 52, but the main jet itself has got '102' engraved on it ?
