Howdy, Lowrider.

Welcome aboard. :)

Two suggestions:

1. Say what your problem is in the topic. That is what will attract the attention of people who have experience in that area. Yelling "Help" tells them nothing.

2. Post in the correct forum for your problem. This, for example, is the forum for posting problems with Mercury and Mariner Outboard engines. Your problem is with a Mercruiser I/O.

I will move this to the Mercruiser forum for you.

Good luck. :)

Is something leaking?...Leaking What?...Where?

The seal I think you are referring to [gimble housing to transom] is probably the hardest seal to get to on the whole drive and engine package.

The engine assembly and drive must be removed.

The inner and outter transom plate are bolted together through the transom.

If you do not have a high mechanical ability and some special tools I would not suggest you attempt this job.

Ive seen many with a bead of sealer around em.

Re: Help, Help, Help

Please start with a description of what you have (such as:1993 sea ray 230 with merc 5.7Liter and alpha One drive). Then tell us what you have noticed or what you think the problem is (such as: I'm getting water in the bilge and see a stream of water running down the transom). Also please tell us any important particulars (such as : I just put it in the water after having the bellows replaced). If you can provide that type of info, there will be someone that can help. By the way welcome to Iboats.
