Help finding bunk brackets

On my current trailer I have two 4x4 covered cypress bunks. Each one has two big "L" brackets in front and in rear. They are also angle cut which is flush to the hull. I need to replace the brackets since they seem to be rusting something fierce even though they are galvanized. The bunks are perfectly solid, no rot and carpet is still good. I cannot find any brackets like these. Its a Performance Trailer which is made here locally. About 10 years old now, but good.

Problem is they now use that artificial wood that is 2x4 with the little 2x4 brackets. Any ideas? I really would hate to buy new bunks just because of these brackets. I have looked online till my eyes hurt and West Marine has nothing either. Maybe I missed a site.

Thanks, Chris

Try Champion Trailer. As a last resort, it would take a local metal fabricator about 15 minutes to make them out of any material you want if you took one for them to look at.

Chris, in your area, there should be several trailer maintainance businesses. most will fix you up with exactly what you want. the existing ones are probably galvanizied angle that was galvanized prior to cutting, the reason for the premature rust. any time you cut galvanized and don't redunk it, you have a rust problem. if you drill in to a galv. trailer you should treat with a galv. paint. it's not perfect, but helps. especially if its getting dunk in salt.
