I just bought a 1985 DT40 that has both controls and tiller. The previous owner only used the controls and I would like to convert it to use the tiller only. Is this as simple as cutting the wiring for the ignition / key on the harness and splicing onto the exisiting location on the actual motor? Has anyone done something like this? Any help would be appreciated.
