HELP - Conflicting Advise! Who's Right!?

I have a 2000 Hurricane FD228R with a 115 Evinrude FFI(FICHT RAM). The Evinrude manual says it has an "Accessory Battery Connection" to independantly charge an accessory battery. However, the local dealer says to use a battery selector switch because he's never had "much luck" using the accessory battery connection. Is there anyone with experience in this area or does anyone have a suggestion? Any help is appreciated.<br /><br />2000 Evinrude 115 FICHT RAM<br />RE115FPLSSH

I have the same motor and have "heard" about the seperate charging setup, but cannot find any reference in the manuals, maybe it is one of those connect this to that and rewire something else to this, type of thing!
