I have a 5.7l bravo 2. in a 92 26` rinker. I can only get to 3k rpm and it seems like something is slipping so I cannot get the boat on plane. I scraped all the barnacles of the drive and sides but could not reach the bottom to verify if there were barnacles there. the boat engine seems to run fine. I changed the fuel filter added gas treatment. It just seems all of a sudden. Is there anything that can slip from the fywheel to the prop. OPr maybe a clogged gas tank screen? :confused:If it were the prop I would think I would have high RPM`s. Its like pushing a box boat in the water and I need another engine to help me get on plane. Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks,
John

Barnacles can sure slow a boat very noticeably. If something was slipping your rpm would be up and speed down.I would bet the bottom needs a good scraping.
If you had barnacles and/or old rough paint that would slow you as well.
