This is a 1967 omc ....I'm rebuilding the waterpump....This hole in the pinion bearing housing has me puzzled....I don't think it should be there....on the side of the casting adjacent to the hole theres a small cut like its from the side of a drill...it seems like I would lose water pressure since it goes out into the exhaust housing.

Almost there, Thanks for asking. Had some delays in working on the boat beyond my control. Hope to finish by the end of the year.

So did you find out if the hole is meant to be there? I have no experience with OMC.

This is what I thought it was......but the weep hole in the impeller housing is a 1/16th or less...anyway I plugged it with JB and assembled it all using sealer in all the right places and went to the dock at Erie thats "Lake Erie" one of the top fisheries in the good ole USA.

This was my 1st launch with this boat, I also run a 1959 18" Lyman with a 1961 75 Johnson and a 1957 Cadillac 16' aluminum with a 1967 40 Johnson or 2 1955 10 hp Johnson.....

Well I fired her up and went back to check things out and saw I left a draincock open on the manifold and before I got there water was sraying out like a pressure washer....well almost. She ran Like a charm.

I sent a pic to a guy I deal with up at Saginaw Bay he's going to get back to me tomorrow.I'll post what he says. And a pic also.

Thanks for all replies and help !!!
