My 96 Merc Bigfoot 60hp is dropping from 5000 rpms to 4000 rpm after running for anywhere from 20-45 min at full throttle. I drop the throttle back and it sputters and when I try to throttle up again it does not go past 4000 rpm's. Using fuel stabilizer and has had dry gas put in also poppet valve and thermostat, new plugs. Any help would really be appreciated.

Stopped by mechanics and saw where water has been getting in top part of engine under motor hood and laying in bottom causing #3 plugh to fail when the water reached the level of #3. Still not sure how it was getting in there?? Test running on Wed, keep your fingers crossed!!!
